Silk Cocoons

Here is a little collection of some ideas for using silk cocoons.  They can be easily cut, stitched, dyed and filled….

I did this little 5″ square piece for a swap challenge with our Textile Art Group. They have been split, stitched and stuffed with cotton.  They have been painted with Shiva Sticks.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA Apologies for the terrible photo!  I took this at an exhibition in Brisbane.  It is a detail photo of a beautiful piece, that – if memory serves me correctly – is by Dale Rollerson.
