Continuing our spotlight series, Stephanie Crawford is another of the 9 members of our Covid Creative gathering, in which the topic of isolation and restrictions was explored.
Stephanie’s work reflected a more personal slant on the magic carpet challenge. Coming to us at times from the UK, and at other times from her current abode in the South of France, she might briefly mention how a family member has been effected by the virus.
Northern Lights
by Stephanie Crawford

Northern Lights | Painted onto cotton using fabric paints. Heavily free motion stitched. | Early this year, shortly before Lockdown, my son and I went on a magical trip through the fjords to north Norway, way above the Arctic Circle. We were lucky enough to see the Northern Lights together. I have thought about this time throughout Lockdown and, if I had a magic carpet, would go back there. |
Stephanie loves to draw, paint, print and stitch and developed her pictorial style after doing a City and Guilds diploma course. She is a SAQA Juries Artist member.
