Lessa Siegele is an Australian Quilt Maker who has a penchant for revisting historic quilts and keeping their heritage alive by creating patterns for them.
Margery’s quilt is another mid 1800’s quilt that she has written a pattern for. She called it Margery’s quilt after the maker of the quilt Margery Harvey.
Here’s what Lessa said about the quilt:
“The original of this quilt is owned by a friend of mine who lives in Toowoomba and has been passed down through her family. At least 2 other quilts made by this lady have been found. I thought it would be good to encourage quilters to make copies of our own old quilts rather than those from the UK or USA.”
Copies of patterns can be obtained from Lessa by sending an email to Brenda Wood @ TwoSewTextiles@Yahoo.com.au
We have now listed some of Lessa’s patterns in our Etsy shop 2 Sew textiles www.etsy.com/shop/2SewTextiles
